A full kitchen or bathroom remodel is one of the biggest projects you can take on in your home. Knowing what happens, and in what order, makes the whole experience calmer. This is exactly how we work at Home Identity, step by step.
1. Initial consultation
It starts with a conversation. We listen to what you want, what bothers you about the current space and how you use it every day. This is the moment to share photos you like, your must-haves and anything you already know you want to change.
Tip: before the consultation, write down three things you love about your current kitchen or bathroom and three things you would change. It makes the design phase much faster.
2. Design and planning
Our designers create a customized plan for your space, selecting the layout and the materials with you. For kitchens, that means cabinets, countertops, backsplash, sinks, fixtures, flooring and lighting. For bathrooms, the vanity, shower or tub, tile, lighting and plumbing fixtures. If you are remodeling a closet, a 3D design is included, so you can see it before it is built.
This is also where our showroom helps. At 185 Jacob Ln in Myrtle Beach you can see cabinets, closet displays, tile, LVP flooring, countertops, vanities and a fully designed shower in person, which is much easier than choosing from a small sample or a screen.
3. Proposal and approval
Once the design is ready, you receive a clear, detailed proposal outlining costs and timelines. Take your time with it and ask every question you have. Nothing moves forward until you are comfortable.
4. Contract signing
When everything in the proposal is approved, we sign the contract and schedule your project.
5. Permits
Some projects require a building permit. If yours does, our team submits it for you, so you do not need to deal with the paperwork.
6. Pre-construction meeting
Before any work begins, we meet to go over the schedule and the details: what happens first, which rooms will be affected and what to expect day to day.
7. Execution
Our team builds your project. The same people who planned it are the ones you talk to during the work, and we keep you informed along the way.
8. Final walkthrough
When the work is finished, we walk through the space with you and review every detail together.
Thinking about a tub-to-shower conversion?
For many homeowners, especially retirees, the most valuable bathroom upgrade is replacing a bathtub with a walk-in shower. It can include grab bars, a non-slip floor, a built-in seat and a handheld shower head, and we follow ADA-compliant designs when they are required. Learn more about our bathroom remodels.
Living out of state?
If you own a home on the Grand Strand but are not here full time, we can manage the project on site and keep you updated remotely.
